U Cal chancellor Chemical Katehi tries to scrub internet

We’re not going to let her get away with this.

“We” is me and every other blogger and journalist, among others. “Her” is Linda P.B. “Chemical” Katehi, chancellor of the University of California at Davis, where campus cop Lt. John Pike sprayed combat strength pepper into the eyes and faces of peaceful, seated demonstrators in 2011.

“This” is Katehi’s attempt to scrub the incident from the internet — her attempt to make history disappear:

There’s not need to repeat the details of the attempted cover-up. The Sacramento Bee broke the story. Conor Friedersdorf has a good summary at The Atlantic, plus links to other sources.

So why am I posting this? To help make damn sure that Katechi’s scrubbing makes the incident shine brighter and forever.

And Katechi? Scrub her from the University of California. A person who tries to make history disappear has no right to run an institution that exists to study history.
