If you give Mike Cooney your cell phone number,
he’ll give you lots and lots of robocalls

Such a bargain — and one that most Democrats probably do not know exists. That’s because it’s announced on his campaign’s website at the bottom of the page in almost impossible to read text (screenshot). But exist it does:

Here’s a screenshot of how those words are presented on Cooney’s campaign for governor website:

Neither of the websites of Cooney’s major opponents for the Democratic nomination for governor, Casey Schreiner and Whitney Williams, has a similar announcement, but it might not be wise to infer from the absence of a “we’re gonna flood you with robocalls” that giving your cell phone number to Schreiner and Williams will not result in being flooded with robocalls. All politicians belong to Fundraisers Gone Wild, the fraternity of tin cuppers who believe they can neither ask for money often enough nor offend anyone with the brazenness of their begs.

If Cooney gets your cell phone number, you’ll be flooded with robocalls and text messages demanding that you donate, and you’ll also be flooded with robocalls and text messages pestering you to vote early. At least Cooney is honest about it.
