A personal note to readers from
Flathead Memo’s editor and janitor

Although I had planned to publish on a daily basis in 2019, concentrating on Montana’s legislative session, that plan has gone awry.

In mid-December I was hospitalized with kidney and other problems related to my decades long struggle with diabetes. The good news is that the tests for exotic and frightening maladies came back negative. The bad news is that being on the north side of three score and ten, my natural force is not at great as when I was younger. Although I’m on the mend, my recovery is taking longer than I hoped, and my energy level varies from day-to-day. Some days I have the git-up-and-go to blog and to address the exigencies of everyday life. Other days, I do not.

Therefore, until I’m stronger, expect days when Flathead Memo does not publish. When that happens, resist the temptation to check the obituaries. I’ll be back.

Since escaping from the hospital, I’ve received many kind notes from readers. I deeply appreciate these expressions of concern and support. Thanks to all of you. — James Conner
