Campaignin’ on Tulsa Time

When I read about President Trump’s misadventure in Tulsa, I couldn’t help myself: I borrowed the tune from Danny Flowers’s classic, Tulsa Time, and wrote lyrics describing the Donald’s debacle.

Campaignin' on Tulsa Time

I left the oval office, flying in a Boeing,
Re-election messin’ my mind,
To my rally going,
Where people were no-showing,
Behavior that should be a crime.

So many people missing,
Their chance to hear me dissing,
Sleepy Joe the man without spine,
They didn't see me slaying,
Demon Dems caught braying,
My shtick until the end of time.

Campaignin' on Tulsa Time,
Campaignin' on Tulsa Time,
I should have said “Aw screw it,”
Instead I said “Let’s do it,”
And made myself a fool so prime.

The Dems say I'm crazy,
My brain they say is lazy,
I stumble when I walk the line,
But you never see me droolin’
I’m simply out there coolin’,
Shticking till the end of time.

It’s on to Arizona,
Dream City and ozona,
God will fill the pews this time,
And when I’m finished speakin’,
No one will be out freakin’,
At all the faces bare so fine.

Campaignin’ on Tulsa Time,
Campaignin’ on Tulsa Time,
I should have said “Aw screw it,”
Instead I said “Let’s do it,”
And made myself a fool so prime.

I should have said “Aw screw it,”
Instead I said “Let’s do it,”
And made myself a fool so prime.
