Flathead Democrats say Junior Trump's rally in Kalispell
this evening was a Covid-19 superspreader event

The Flathead County Democratic Party released the following statement on the Republican rally at the Flathead Fairgrounds that commenced at 1800 MDT today.

Halloween Super-Spreader: Donald Trump Jr. and Senator Steve Daines Think The Flathead’s Dying To Hear Ted Nugent – And They May Be Right.

Today, Senator Steve Daines and Donald Trump Jr. hosted a COVID super-spreader campaign rally at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. “The danger” posed to Flathead County residents by this astonishing lack of judgment, said Don Pogreba of the Montana Post, “is not theoretical.”

On a day when Montana reported 887 new cases statewide, and COVID killed 29 people in state within the previous 24 hours, The Hill reported on “a new study from Stanford University found that 18 of President Trump’s (mostly outdoor) campaign rallies have led to over 30,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and likely led to over 700 deaths.”

“According to the Stanford study, rallies across America just like this one increase subsequent cases of COVID-19 by over 250 infections per 100,000 residents.” said Flathead County Democratic Central Committee Chair Lynn Stanley.

In 2019, the ever-growing population of Flathead County was 103,806. Today, Flathead County reported 105 new cases, 760 active cases, 3,492 total confirmed cases, and a total of 27 deaths.

That means over 250 Flathead County residents could very well become infected because of Senator Daines’ callous indifference to our local public health and safety,” Stanley continued. “How many more Flathead County residents will die because Senator Daines and Donald Trump Jr. held this event?”

“This race is about who better represents Montana’s values,” Stanley continued. “Montanans are independent and think for themselves. They expect the same from their elected officials. An independent leader stands up to his own party’s politicians when they’re wrong. As Donald Trump Jr.’s presence in Kalispell demonstrated again today, instead, Senator Daines toes the party line.”
